Von der Aufnahme Something Crazy
Songtext
Old Sam
His smock more black than blue
Hands full of dirt and grease
Sam´s fixing brakes and what´s left to do
On a fifteen year old japanese
The narrow glasses smudged
The grey hair has grown long
He may seem like a worn out man
But his old heart still beats strong
Wallpaper-pictures of Astons and Rolls
Unaffortabel dreams on four wheels
Glow there on the whitewashed walls
The magic of those cars he feels
He´d have all the knowledge an every needed tool
It´s in his minds eye, all cristal clear
Taking care of such treasures, not just work to rule
But no one like that has ever been here
Old Sam
Old Sam
You could have done better
What would it be like to work
for the big firm one day
A big logo on the chest
A clean workshop and weekly pay
At 8 p. m. Sam puts the wrench down
It´s already dark outside
The old japanese is not finished yet
One last look at the pictures; then he turns off the light
Old Sam
Old Sam
You could have done better
